The Project "My Future is Today" promoted social protection and formal employment of young people, in Ecuador 2 out of 10 young workers, between 18 and 29 years old, have access to the Contributory Public Social Security System. In addition, the employment situation of this group has become more pressing due to the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is why the International Labor Organization (ILO) works on the construction of strategies that allow the integration of young people in an informal situation into the social security system. This was done through the Project -My Future Is Today-, an initiative that contributed to strengthening the institutions and the sustainability of the Social Protection System in Ecuador, as well as improving access to services, knowledge, and skills of more than 4,000 young women and men to promote their transition to formality, decent work, and contributory social protection schemes.
