In 2015, a law that restricts the use of captive animals in circuses forced the animals to be delivered to zoos. Tent shows such as circus acts travel the world showing, from the beginning, trained living beings performing various activities. Workers mention that sometimes attendees told them that only in those places could they meet lions, tigers, llamas, zebras and other living beings.

Due to complaints about the mistreatment of animals by their tamers, inadequate places to live and transport them, legislators promoted the proposal. Prior to the implementation of the legislation, circus industry workers held demonstrations to be allowed to contunue with the acts where animals appear.

The Circo Hermanos Cedeño offered one of its last performances with animals in the Chimalhuacan área in the State of Mexico. Despite the low entrance fees (between two and five dollars approximately) and the announcement that they would be the last performances with animals, attendance was very low.
