Public Project
Chakrulo
I spent two weeks, a facsimile of the time I spent there ten years prior, retracing my steps and reflecting on my process as an artist.
Questions around the best way to present this work have been constantly evolving. In the end, it seemed important to let my evolution as a photographer be a background element in the story of the works' creation. Ultimately, I wanted the images to speak for themselves. The banal things I’ve noticed about my process didn’t seem worth translating visually, like the fact that I’ve learned to take a step back and evaluate context, to think beyond the aesthetic value of the image, etc.
