Volar
Wings symbolize the human aspiration to fly, free ourselves, flee, and see the world from another perspective.
Since I was a child, I think we have all played at flying, climbing as high as possible from somewhere and launching ourselves, experiencing the sensation of floating for a moment. Watching my son grow up, I watch him play the same thing: that dream of feeling nothing but the wind, but gravity always wins. Aspiring to go higher and higher, as high as we can, despite often not having the resources or limitations to do so.
As in the previous series, I have attempted to observe nature from another perspective to conserve, understand, and observe it. The taxidermy bird wings are fascinating representations of the beauty and grace of these winged creatures, a symbol of what we cannot accomplish, even with a little envy when we can get up and escape everything so easily. By photographing taxidermy bird wings, you capture the details and textures that are otherwise difficult to observe, offering a unique perspective.
In some indirect way, I wish to emphasize the importance of preserving these species and protecting their habitat. This will help us understand the beauty and complexity of these winged creatures, reflect on our relationship with nature, and desire to escape, to float silently.
