Summary

On 28N in Mexico City commemorated the Global Day of Action for Legal, Safe and Accessible Abortion in Mexico after the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) declared unconstitutional the criminalization of abortion in the Federal Penal Code of Mexico on September 6. It eliminates "abortion" as a crime. So I went to the streets on 28N to do a series of interviews and portraits for @nytopinion.

I am taking part in this global day of action for safe and legal abortion because I believe that abortion is a human right to which everyone — cis women, nonbinary people, trans men, and others — is entitled. Mexico has advanced a lot in terms of women’s rights in recent years, but that does not take away from what we are observing in other Latin American countries. We must not take our eyes off what is still left to do. — Arlen Molina, Mexico City
