Summary

Just 10 days before Julian Assange was freed, his wife and the mother of their 2 children, lawyer Stella Assange was a guest in Milan at Wired Next Fest.

Besides discussing Assange's case and its importance to journalism, Mrs Assange detailed the conditions in which her husband was living in prison, with heavy restrictions for communication, space, and time. In hindsight, Mrs Assange perhaps was more hopeful than she would show, as the negotiations and organizing for this week's operation of course had been going on for some time. Mrs Assange also acknowledged the perseverance of their Italian supporters, many of which were in the audience.
