We Need Colours to Survive This World
Fondazione Giorgio e Armanda Marchesani – Dorsoduro 2525, VeniceOctober 10 – November 9, 2025
Opening reception: October 16, 6 PM
We Need Colours to Survive This World marks a turning point in Monica Silva’s ongoing research on the relationship between light, psychology, and perception.
Presented at the Fondazione Giorgio e Armanda Marchesani in Venice, the exhibition opened to the public on October 10 and has already welcomed a remarkable number of visitors. The exhibition unfolds through a series of rooms where light itself becomes a living presence.
Holographic films installed on windows flood the interiors with vibrant reflections that shift with the daylight, turning each space into a constantly changing chromatic landscape.
Every surface — from the garden to the inner walls — participates in a visual symphony of color, energy, and transformation.
In the garden of the Foundation, visitors encounter Angel Gabriel – POP, a luminous installation designed by Valerio Fausti.
This winged sculpture, crafted from stainless steel and colored resin, stands as a contemporary angel — a guardian of playfulness and rebirth — inviting us to reconnect with our inner child, that part of us capable of wonder, imagination, and lightness.
The project has received wide media attention, including a dedicated feature on the cover of Sette, the weekly magazine of Corriere della Sera, and upcoming publications on ANSA, MSN, and several other international outlets.Supported by Fondazione Giorgio e Armanda Marchesani and Fujifilm Italia, the exhibition reflects Silva’s vision of art as a healing force — a visual journey where color becomes language, light becomes therapy, and perception becomes awareness.
