City of Angels Under Isolation and Readying for the Seige
As Los Angeles shuttered and everyone sheltered in place, emptiness collided with the raw and severe life on the streets. The everyday forces too many to either show up to work, those who are the life force of this city, not just on the front lines, but the multitudes who have no choice but clock in for a day's pay. On the boulevards the stragglers were still meandering and the hustlers were still flogging what could be sold. Amidst the paramedics careening up Sunset delivering another victim of Covid to a city hospital. As the thousands and thousands from all walks of life risk what they dont know could happen to seek provisions and that golden roll of toilet paper, or to stand on a line at Traders, six feet apart, or head to their favorite taco truck, masked and feeling protected, the one constant on everyone's mind is how long will this go on? And when do we get tested? And just as important: without work who pays our rent?
