Jewish Groups Protest Violence in Gaza & Israel

Location: Chicago, illinois

October 23, 2023- Chicago, Illinois, United States: Over 300 Chicagoans of various background including Jewish and Palestinian protested in downtown Chicago culminating in about 50 protestors being detained and ticketed for obstruction of traffic and were involuntarily removed from the street in oder to restore the flow of traffic during rush hours.

The protest was organized by the Chicago chapters of The Jewish Voice For Peace and IfNotNow. Both groups oppose the Israeli government’s policy of expansions, settlements and treatment of the Palestinians.

The protestors demanded an immediate cease fire of all hostilities and an immediate end to all violence in Gaza and Israel. The protests was to “disrupt business as usual by blocking rush hour traffic” in downtown Chicago. (Nima Taradji/Polaris)
