I am honored to be part of the group exhibition Capturing Dignity, curated by Ann Rosen. It showcases the work of five talented women photographers documenting their communities. Through portraiture and a focus on dignity, this exhibition highlights the lives of those often overlooked in our society.
The exhibition features nineteen photographs from my ongoing social-documentary series, Simple Moments of an Emerging Presence, which I began in 2001. This project documents the historic migration of Mexicans into New York City, particularly Staten Island. It focuses on how immigrant communities bring, adapt, and preserve their rich culture while establishing themselves in their new home.
I hope to see you there!
Warm regards,
