Hundreds of students gathered in London to protest against their A-levels results calculated by an algorithm which, among others, considers historical scores obtained by their respective scores. As a result of the blanket formula, about 40 percent of British students saw downgraded results from what were originally expected. Many of them consequently lost their places at universities. Students call on government to call void on the automated results and allow teachers to grade them on their individual merits instead. The protesters met at Parliament Square to march to the Department of Education for a sit-in and then made their stand opposite 10 Downing Street. Chants of "teachers over robots" or "get Gavin [Williamson] gone" were repeated between personal accounts of injustice by individual protesters.
