On May 1st in Quito, Ecuador, International Workers' Day is commemorated with marches and gatherings that bring together workers from various sectors to demand labor improvements, social justice, and respect for their rights. The main avenues of the historic center fill with banners, slogans, and flags from unions, social organizations, and citizen groups raising their voices against job insecurity and economic policies that affect the working class.
