Pendant longtemps, elle a travaillé au Mandela Ranch qui se trouve à deux kilomètres à pied, où elle supervisait le travail des femmes dans les champs. Ce projet, elle y avait mis toute son énergie, persuadée que cela permettait aux femmes des villages alentour de retrouver un but et de pouvoir vivre dignement de leur dur labeur. Le projet aura tenu plusieurs années, avec le soutien de son fondateur, le docteur Sylla. Mais après son décès, les promesses n'ont pas été tenues et Diary a repris son quotidien sur le terrain familial. Aujourd'hui, elle continue d'élever ses enfants et de veiller sur ses bêtes et ses citronniers. Elle s'inquiète de l'avenir pour ses enfants, surtout lorsqu'elle pense à ces autres qui ont pris la route, persuadés qu'un avenir meilleur les attend de l'autre côté de l'Océan.

Diary Sow, a mother and wife, is above all a strong woman who embodies both tradition and the determination to bring progress to society. It’s not that she declares it loudly, but Diary wants to be free. Free to be whoever she wants to be while honoring her customs. For a long time, she worked at the Mandela Ranch, located two kilometers away on foot, where she oversaw the work of women in the fields. She poured her heart and energy into this project, convinced it gave women from nearby villages a renewed sense of purpose and the means to earn a dignified living from their hard labor. The project lasted several years with the support of its founder, Dr. Sylla. But after his death, promises went unfulfilled, and Diary returned to her daily life on her family land. Today, she continues to raise her children and tend to her livestock and lemon trees. She worries about the future for her children, especially when she thinks of those who have left, convinced that a better future awaits them on the other side of the ocean.
