What might have been lost
Grande-Synthe, Mars 2023
In the Footsteps of the Forgotten: A Programmed Invisibilization
Grande-Synthe, March 2023
The photos in this series were all taken along the northern coastline around Grande Synthe at different times. Some were taken by the sea in November 2021, capturing items left behind that testify to the passage of exiled people as they wait for the departure of their boat to the English shores. Others were taken in March 2023, highlighting the invisibilization of exiled people at the Franco-British border. On one side, the remnants of the Linière camp, a temporary shelter that had been set up; on the other side, in color, the remains of the site known as "Vélodrome," demolished in March 2023, which had previously provided refuge for those in exile.
